Welcome to B2B Weekend Vibes – a weekly roundup of current goings-on From the Bay to the Beach. Here you’ll find a few of my favorite things and a peek into my week. Yay – it’s Friday!
In this post – favorite fall sneakers, Halloween porch decor inspiration in NYC, and my Thanksgiving tablescape inspiration this year.

Suede Shoe Trends
My new shoe obsession is finding fun everyday sneakers. In case you hadn’t noticed, brown is the sneaker color this fall. And it just so happens that brown goes perfectly with fall’s other big trend – suede. In fact, I just ordered this cute pair of brown sneaks (currently on sale) to update my fall wardrobe.

I’ve reached a point in my life where the only shoes I want to wear are ones that are comfortable that I can walk in. Being very tall, I rarely wear heels. Plus, when I do wear them, my feet kill me the next day. It’s just not worth it anymore. Bring on the comfy shoes!
Brown Suede Tennis/Sneaker Picks
I’ve been obsessively checking out all of the brown suede tennis shoes trending this fall. Here are 8 good options from Nordstrom — all suede or suede-heavy and in brown tones — that align with this trend:

Reformation Terra Sneaker

Vince Oasis Runner Sneaker
A modern runner silhouette in creamy taupe and sand suede with clean tonal layers.
Adidas Handball Spezial Sneaker
The cult-favorite silhouette in rich chocolate suede with cream stripes and a gum sole.
Sam Edelman Isella Sneaker
A sleek espresso-brown suede sneaker accented with white stitching and a subtle retro “H” logo motif.

I stumbled across this Homeworthy video this week and it stopped me in my tracks. Can you believe how amazing this NYC stoop is? Kristi Hemric is a content creator and photographer who regularly transforms her Upper East Side stoop into gorgeous holiday displays. She’s so talented! This one’s definitely worth a watch!
More Spectacular Halloween Decor on the Upper West Side!
I couldn’t leave this one out! On the other side of Central Park is another incredible Halloween display that includes some 4,000 pumpkins. Designer Hillary Wallace has the most amazing Halloween decoration inside and out. Grab some Halloween candy, hit play and enjoy the show!
A Thanksgiving Tablescape to Duplicate
It’s almost November and while I like decorating for the holidays, I’m trying to pump the brakes on Christmas decor for a bit – at least until I figure out my Thanksgiving tablescape. My go-to sites for tablescape inspiration are Pinterest and Pottery Barn, although I have to say that I’m getting tired of seeing AI tablescapes everywhere on Pinterest. I don’t know about you, but I want to see real tables set with real dishes and decor, not computer-generated images that are impossible to replicate. Am I the only one?
Inspiration
This year, I’m inspired by the Ralph Lauren look, with plaid patterns and plates with animal motifs. I saved a pic of this tablescape from the Pottery Barn catalog months ago. It’s such a playful table with animal pitchers and antler candle holders.

Of course, the easy way to get this look would be to simply buy everything in the picture (which I’m sure Pottery Barn would love.) That’s not really in the budget though, and even if it were, I’d have to figure out where to store it all. Plus, I like the two sets of fine china I already own and I’m not looking to add another whole set. Instead, I’m going to pull certain elements from the design to use in my own tablescape.
Getting the Look
I’ll start with a neutral-colored tablecloth to cover our black dining table. Natural linen is a classic touch, plus this one is machine washable.

Next I’ll layer on a square plaid table throw on the diagonal as pictured below. I think this makes a table look much more modern than a traditional full-size cloth. And because it’s smaller, it’s also a much less expensive option.

Napkin Rings
PB sells some pretty metallic natural pinecone napkin rings that could be used for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I like finding accessories that work for more than one holiday. These would be easy to DIY too.

Animal Salad Plates
Mixing and matching fun salad plates with dishes you already own is an easy and less expensive way to add a fun touch to your table. You can often find fun and unique salad plates at thrift stores.
PB is currently offering a couple of different animal-themed salad plate sets. I like the bird ones below (left) and they’re on clearance. I already have a set of thrifted waterfowl highball glasses that would look fun with them. (To see how I used them in a 4th of July table setting, check out A Ralph Lauren-Inspired Patriotic Tablescape.)
The plates on the right are the ones used in the tablescape above, but they’re not currently on sale.

I love the Spode Woodland line of china (below) so much that I’m thinking about starting a collection of their salad plates. The brown pattern on these pretty plates reminds me of transfer ware. Any of these options would look great on my table.

In case you missed it…
OK, back to Halloween. There were a couple new posts on the blog this week! First, I’m sharing some tips on setting a glass dining table for Halloween. Hint: lacy spiderweb tablecloths look amazing!

I also shared a quick and easy way to turn your books into Halloween decor. You only need a few supplies to make these pretty and creepy book stacks.

Going Golfing
We’re looking forward to spending some time in Palm Springs in the next week. We’re bringing our clubs with us for the first time. I sure hope I golf better than I did this week! Yikes.

P.S. If you’re looking for a quick and easy couples Halloween costume, how about a caddie and a golfer? Our club hosted a Halloween tournament this week and I dressed up as a caddie. The hat and the white coveralls are both from Amazon. I had to size up for length.
