For this tablescape I draped a large piece of red patterned fabric diagonally across the white tablecloth. The tiny blue flowers on the fabric inject some pattern in the design.

Chair Covers

I used to have a set of wooden folding chairs, which I used a lot. Unfortunately, they were donated during one of our recent moves, so I borrowed some regular brown folding chairs. To dress them up, I used inexpensive navy blue chair covers. They easily stretched over the chairs and made them look much more attractive. They are reusable too!

Placemats

Flag-themed placemats by Nautica add some Americana to the table. They are the only literal patriotic emblems used in this tablescape.

The crystal pitcher originally belonged to my mother.

The silver candlesticks in this tablescape are from Pottery Barn, as are the white plates. The rattan napkin rings and white tablecloth are from Amazon. The flag placemats and crystal lowball glasses are from HomeGoods.

For budget-conscious decorators, consider DIY alternatives—spray paint thrift store finds in brass tones, stack books you already own, or repurpose woven baskets from discount stores to get the look for less.
