How to Style a “Sweet” Centerpiece for Valentine’s Day

In this post – how to style a “sweet” Valentine’s Day centerpiece for your tablescape.

Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to create a romantic and festive tablescape that sets the tone for a memorable celebration. Whether you’re planning a cozy dinner for two or a gathering with loved ones, the centerpiece is the star of the show. Here’s how I crafted a pretty “sweet” Valentine’s Day centerpiece for our table.

Supplies Needed:

Conversation hearts (2 lbs)

Faux roses

Foam blocks

Rectangular glass vase

Felt hearts (optional)

Red plastic drinking straws (optional)

Step 1: Put blocks in vase

I previously used this vase for my Thanksgiving centerpiece. For details, see my post How to Upcycle an Old Wreath Into a Pretty Centerpiece. I had to cut my blocks to fit, leaving a half-inch space between the blocks and the sides of the vase.

Step 2: Arrange candies around blocks

Once the blocks are in place, carefully pour the candies into the space between the blocks and the sides of the vase. Hold the blocks in place while pouring the candies over them. Gently shake the vase back and forth to evenly distribute the candies along the sides of the vase.

Step 3: Trim Rose Stems

To start, I trimmed the faux rose stems to a length that would safely tuck into the floral foam cubes. I held the roses up to the side of the vase to determine how to trim them.

Step 4: Arrange Roses in Vase

Once all of the roses were trimmed, I arranged them in the vase, starting in the center of the cubes and working down toward the edges of the vase. I tried to distribute the red and white colors evenly.

Step 5: Add Other Details

Since I already had these cute felt hearts from my post on how to DIY napkin rings for Valentine’s Day, it was easy to add them to my arrangement. I simply poked the plastic straws into the bottoms of the hearts and tucked the straws into the arrangement.

Step 6: Enjoy!

I love the sweet touch this arrangement adds to our table.

I’m looking forward to sharing the rest of my Valentine’s Day tablescape soon! Do you like to set a special table for Valentine’s Day? Let me know in the comments below!
