B2B Weekend Vibes #4

Welcome to B2B Weekend Vibes – a weekly roundup of current goings-on From the Bay to the Beach. Here you’ll find a few of my favorite things, a bit of home decor inspiration, and a peek into my week. Yay – it’s Friday!

A Peek Into My Week

Have you ever gotten to Friday and wondered “where did the week go?” Well that’s me this week.

I’ve been working on multiple posts at the same time and as a result I haven’t yet finished any of them, except for this one. Fortunately that means lots of new posts on the blog soon!

Coming Soon

Styled 2 Ways

On Monday, MaryJo of Master”pieces” of my Life and I will be sharing Christmas in July ideas for our monthly Styled 2 Ways series. Each month we choose a craft, decor or recipe idea and put our own spin on it. MaryJo works her magic with thrifted and vintage items, while I usually take a more coastal approach. Be sure to subscribe so you won’t miss a post.

Here are some fun Styled 2 Ways we’ve done together this year so far. Hope you can join us on Monday!

Mermaid Christmas Tree

Since I had so much fun decoupaging oyster shells in this post, I decided to run with it! Here’s a sneak peek of what I’ve been working on. I’m calling it a Mermaid Christmas Tree. Details on how to make your own will be on the next Styled 2 Ways post on Monday.

Styling a Cozy Deck for Summer

I’ve also been working on putting the final touches on our back deck and so we can finally use it this summer. I decided to add something to our deck that I’ve seen in magazines and have always wanted to try. Turns out it was way easier than I thought! Any guesses? Here’s a preview.

Big Announcement

Happiness is Homemade

Ok, now that I have your attention, I am excited to share that I will be co-hosting a link party for the very first time! The wonderful ladies who host the weekly Happiness is Homemade link party every Sunday have graciously allowed me to join their party as one of the hostesses. I hope you’ll stop by the party here on Sunday! Please visit their blogs when you get a chance.

Linda @ A Labour of Life

Sinea @ Ducks ‘n a Row

Beverly @ Eclectic Red Barn

Katie @ Love My Messy Messy Mess

What’s a link party? If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a chance for bloggers and creators to share their creative ideas with a wider audience by linking their posts up to the party. Parties can have one or multiple hosts. You never know what you might find. I can’t wait to see what is shared this week!

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is Happening Now

I did make it to the Anniversary Sale Early Access Event this year for the first time. I will say the store was extremely organized and ready for all of the eager early-bird shoppers. They welcomed customers with free coffee and water and pretty fresh flowers. I wish I had taken more pictures because they really went all-out to make it a fun experience.

The Nordstrom Brand

Personally, I didn’t find much included in the sale that I needed or wanted. Typically they only put certain brands in the sale, and this time around I wasn’t into most of what was included. I did, however, get some new pajamas (very exciting, right?) I like the quality of the Nordstrom in-house brand and these pajamas are comfy and soft. Plus they’re cool in the summer, and that counts for a lot when you are north of a certain age!

I’m also a fan of the Nordstrom brand jewelry line. Are you familiar? They make quality casual jewelry pieces at a good price. I have several pieces, including this eye-catching faux pearl cuff bracelet and this delicate genuine freshwater pearl necklace. I wore both on our recent trip to Hawaii. If you have been a long-time reader, you know I love pearl jewelry.

The Nordstrom brand also includes clothing for men, women and children. I can count on it for quality items at a good price. For example, I have several of their cashmere sweaters. Their brand is also climate-friendly, which is a plus in this era of fast-fashion. I like knowing that what I purchase from them will last longer than one season.

The Nordstrom line of high-quality clothing, shoes and accessories offers just the right pieces for women, men and kids seeking timeless, classic items to complement and polish their wardrobe. Versatility, ease and affordability are hallmarks of the Nordstrom collection. Available exclusively at Nordstrom.

This brand meets Nordstrom Responsible Brands criteria: Nordstrom Label has committed to science-based climate action, with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the latest climate science.

Getting Organized

On top of trying to write multiple blog posts at once, I also thought I was going to organize not one, but TWO, closets this week. I might have overestimated the amount of time that’s going to take. My clothes closet could take a day or two on its own by the time I sort through everything and reorganize the shelving. And then there’s the guest room closet that’s doubling as a craft/office supplies closet with no actual space for guests that needs purging. I know what I’m doing next week.

As I mentioned last week, I was planning to take advantage of the elfa sale at the Container Store. I did snag a couple of things that will help with the closet reorganization. I bought two of their medium Drawer Solution sets to corral my crafting supplies which are threatening to take over our guest room closet.

And, since I’m trying to reclaim a portion of our guest room closet for actual guests, I will be rearranging the elfa shelves to accommodate an elfa clothes hanging rod too.

I really love the elfa system. We installed it in the closets in our last home, and I was really happy to find it in our current home. Have you ever used the elfa system?

Currently Reading

I just finished reading a murder mystery called The Thursday Murder Club for our neighborhood book group. It wasn’t a book I would have normally picked out to read on my own, but I did enjoy it. The story is about a group of seniors living in a retirement community in the English countryside who have a penchant for solving murders. It’s clever and funny. It’s the first book in a series of four, so if you like it there are three more to enjoy.

Currently Watching

The best part about crafting is that you can also binge watch while you’re doing it. I had a chance to catch up on some shows while trying not to burn my fingers with hot glue.

Sirens – Netflix

I just watched Sirens on Netflix and found it entertaining. It’s a limited series satire/murder mystery/paranormal story set in the Hamptons at an ocean-side estate. The cast is star studded and includes Oscar-winner Julianne Moore, Kevin Bacon, Meghann Fahy (of White Lotus Season 2) and Milly Alcock. And if you love Lilly Pulitzer, you won’t want to miss the styles worn on the show. There are only five episodes, so you can watch the whole series in one weekend if you’re so inclined.

Mini Reni – Magnolia Network

For a dose of renovation inspiration, check out Mini Reni, Joanna Gaines’ newest show about quick home renovations using existing spaces. The name of the show annoys me though – shouldn’t it be Mini Reno? (Although then people would probably think it’s about Reno, Nevada…) I’ve watched a half dozen episodes so far. The show sticks close to home with all of the renos (renis?) taking place in the homes of her friends and employees living in Waco, Texas. She also shares the progress of her own dining room addition along with some updates at her Magnolia brand home base The Silos. It’s worth a watch if you’re a fan of her style and brand.

That’s it for this B2B. I’ve got to go finish some other posts now. Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you tomorrow for our Happiness is Homemade link party! Yay it’s Friday!
