New Posting Schedule
While I love catching up with you all each week, I’m finding that I need more time to work on content to share with you. Going forward, B2B Weekend Vibes will be bi-monthly on the 1st and 3rd Fridays each month. This gives me more time to focus on other projects that I’m excited to share with you soon. Thanks for being here and stay tuned!

Slip Skirt Alert
While our California-casual lifestyle works for most days, it’s always fun to slip into something a little dressier for a special occasion. We are headed to New York City in December for a few days for a work-related event and to see my daughter. That means dressing up for some dinners and the theater. Yay! It also means being prepared for cold weather, so I like to plan ahead to make sure what I’m wearing is warm and comfortable too.
The Sweater and Slip Skirt Outfit
Enter the slip skirt outfit! A silk or satin skirt topped with an oversized sweater is the perfect combination of warmth and shine. When paired with some ankle booties and a fun bag, you have an outfit that works for any occasion this season.

I’ve been seeing this trend all over Pinterest. What’s funny is I remember wearing something similar back in the 90’s, only the skirts were typically floral prints. Now the look is minimalist and monochromatic, which I think looks much more refined.

Where to Buy
Quince
I am blown away by the quality of this silk skirt I found at Quince. It’s beautiful and comfortable and fits perfectly, plus it has an elastic waistband. It’s made from 100% washable silk and looks much more expensive than it is. I highly recommend giving Quince a try if you’re looking to add a silk skirt to your wardrobe.

Nordstrom
The Nordstrom brand typically makes high-quality basics. This satin skirt is a reasonable price and and lovely color.

More Slip Skirt and Sweater Outfits
I was initially inspired to try this trend when I saw this sweater and skirt outfit by Ralph Lauren. I love the juxtaposition of the oversized sweater with the satin skirt. The white button down shirt layered underneath adds a preppy element that breaks up all of the black. When paired with some black booties, it’s the perfect combo of chic and cozy.

Burgundy Slip Skirt Outfit
This pretty wine-colored sweater and skirt combo works well for both Thanksgiving and the rest of the holiday season. I paired it with some sparkly bags and earrings for some additional shine.

Green Slip Skirt Outfit
The color green is synonymous with Christmas, so you can’t go wrong with this outfit. The gold accessories pop against the green. I love these green drop earrings by Ralph Lauren too.

Turkey Chili Recipe
Last week I mentioned I had found a new dutch oven and that I was looking for some new recipes for things to make in it. Well, with the cold and rainy weather we’ve been having, I decided it was time to break out the turkey chili recipe and put my new pot to good use.
This is a great low-fat chili recipe that we love and I wanted to share it with you. It can be made on the stovetop or in a crock pot. It also freezes well.

Notes
This recipe makes a lot of chili. I usually halve it when I make it for the two of us. This is the stove top version of the recipe. To make it in the crock pot, brown the onions and ground turkey first before adding all ingredients into the pot. Cook it on low 4 – 6 hours, stirring occasionally.

Our First Flocked Tree

We had a 9 foot faux Christmas tree in our old home because it had really high ceilings. We have been using it here in our smaller place for the last two years and finally decided that it just wasn’t going to work size-wise. It is actually too wide at the base for the size of the room, making it difficult to walk around when we wanted to go out on our front deck. Although it was pretty, it was time for something smaller.

After hunting online I found a narrow flocked tree from Birch Lane that’s 7.5 feet tall and only about 3 feet wide at the base. It’s been much easier to live with than the bigger one was.

We’ve never wanted a flocked tree because of memories of the awful, messy, fake flocked trees from the 70’s. Turns out they’ve come a long way since then. I’m loving the look of it! The woven tree collar is also from Birch Lane. The white faux fur tree skirt is from Amazon. (Pay no attention to the orange-looking wood floors. They came with the house. I’m hoping to change them at some point.)

Since it’s fairly close to the time when I would normally put our tree up, I went ahead and set it up and fluffed it. It’s not fully decorated yet. I just added some neutral glass ornaments to spruce it up ahead of Thanksgiving. Here are some of the decorations I’m adding to it soon:

Floral Tree
Our local nursery goes all out for Christmas and I look forward to visiting it every year. I spotted this lovely floral-themed tree in their gift shop.

Travel Tree
This travel-themed tree is covered with beautiful glass ornaments depicting famous spots from all over the world. They really pop against the white tree.
