B2B Weekend Vibes #9

Welcome to B2B Weekend Vibes – a weekly roundup of current goings-on From the Bay to the Beach. Here you’ll find a few of my favorite things, a bit of home decor inspiration, and a peek into my week. Yay – it’s Friday!

In this post – we’ve gone back to the beach and I’m sharing how I’m planning a girlfriend’s weekend coastal tablescape, our recent trip to watch a Padres game, a favorite spot for sunset views, a little fall porch decor and my picks from the Serena and Lily sale.

Back to the Beach

Sunset over the Pacific this week

It’s great to be back by the ocean. I can just feel my shoulders relax when we get here. We’ve been busy with the usual housekeeping that’s needed for a home near the water, mainly window washing and cleaning off the dirt/dust/salt crud that covers everything over time. You quickly learn that everything at the beach is always dirty!

A Neutral Coastal Coffee Table

While dusting, I decided to update the coffee table with a couple of new things I bought in the Bay Area. One of them is this large driftwood candle holder from Pottery Barn. It’s the perfect scale for our oversized coffee table from Arhaus. The vase is from a home decor store up north. It adds a pop of shine. I’m loving this neutral coastal tablescape arrangement.

Jellyfish Terrarium Update

I was happy to see that my cute jellyfish terrarium is thriving in spite of being neglected for several months. There were some questions on Hometalk about whether or not attaching them to the shells with a little hot glue would hurt them. Apparently not! You can find the post about how to make one here. It was super easy!

Our Favorite Sunset-Watching Spot

One of our favorite spots to watch the sunsets from is our small front balcony. We were able to find two awesomely comfortable chairs from a great store in Poway called The Barn Redefined during one of their warehouse sales. If you’re ever in the Poway area and love decor with some patina, you should make it a point to visit. The owner has an ever-changing inventory so you never know what you might find.

The petrified wood stump is also from The Barn Redefined. It was quite the challenge getting it home as it weighs a ton!

I found the wood cocktail table at Homegoods. It seems to be weathering well and if it doesn’t it wasn’t that expensive so I won’t panic.

The woven ottomans are from Amazon and are great for extra seating when needed, or for just putting your feet up.

Girlfriends’ Dinner Coastal Tablescape

I have some dear girlfriends from the Bay Area coming to stay with me next weekend and I cannot wait! We’re planning on having dinner at a local beachside restaurant the first night. The second night, the plan is to hang out, cook dinner together and watch the sunset. Of course, my brain immediately starts to plan a pretty coastal tablescape to celebrate being together. Here are some of the things I’ll be using. I’ll share it all on the blog next week!

Padres vs. Giants

If you like going to baseball games, you’ll love Petco Park. It’s located in the heart of downtown San Diego near the famous Gaslamp District.

We took the trolley to downtown from north county. It’s an easy way to get to the ballpark and we didn’t have to deal with the expense and hassle of trying to park nearby. I have to say, public transit is way more convenient in San Diego than it is in the Bay Area!

We like to go to the games once in a while and especially when the Giants are in town. Talk about feeling conflicted! I will root for the Padres against any team but the Giants. Unfortunately for the Giants, they were no match for the Padres this game, losing 1-8. Ouch.

Our favorite place in the ballpark so far is the Cutwater Agave Club, which is located on the Terrace Level. It’s the perfect spot to grab a drink, enjoy some good food and watch the game. And, a good cocktail takes some of the sting out of watching your hometown team get crushed.

Our seats were right along the 3rd base line and offered a great view of the game. No foul balls, although one came close!

Fall Porch Decor

Before we headed back to the beach, I wanted to give our tiny Bay Area a fall update. By making some simple swaps I was able to quickly transition the space from summer to fall. And in the process of switching out the decor I found a sweet little bird nest in the wall basket that some birds must have built last spring and didn’t use. Maybe they’ll try again next spring.

The Serena and Lily Labor Day Sale

Let’s face it, Serena and Lily is not cheap by any stretch. I will often use their stylings for inspiration and find dupes elsewhere. However, when I do purchase something from them, I am impressed by the quality of their products. The lamps in our guest room are from Serena and Lily and they are beautiful and well-made.

Now that their Labor Day Sale is happening, I have my eye on a few more items for our home. I love their entertaining accessories, especially their wicker glassware and this bar cart. Their bamboo flatware is still really popular too.
