B2B Weekend Vibes #7

Welcome to B2B Weekend Vibes – a weekly roundup of current goings-on From the Bay to the Beach. Here you’ll find a few of my favorite things, a bit of home decor inspiration, and a peek into my week. Yay – it’s Friday!

In this post – fall decorating inspiration, some late-summer wardrobe updates from Anthropologie, my Instant Pot adventure, and a new Netflix series to binge.

A Peek Into My Week

Hello friends! Hope you’ve had a good week. Can you believe it’s already August?

Anthropologie Finds

Do you have a white denim jacket? I didn’t but I’ve been wanting one for a while. I have a blue one that I love that I bought from Anthro years ago but I hesitate to wear it with blue jeans because I’m not a huge fan of the head-to-toe denim look.

One of my dear friends recently had on the cutest oversized denim jacket and I loved it so much that I tracked it down and got myself one too! It’s boxy and runs large so I sized down to a M. I’m normally a L in most clothing but a lot of times Anthro brands run big. This ivory color will go with just about everything this fall. Plus it’s roomy enough to layer over a sweater.

Birkenstock Madrid Big Buckle Raffia Sandals

I have been living in my Birkenstock Arizona Big Buckle suede slides this summer. I spotted this slide in a new raffia material and decided to give it a try. By some miracle, they had my size in stock (I’m a size 11 and I’m also 6 feet tall, hence the large feet.) These will be perfect not only for everyday wear but also for a dressier look, especially in beachy San Diego.

Pilcro Short-Sleeve Sweater Twofer Top

I also found this super-soft transitional top for fall. It’s cozy but light, so I can wear it throughout the fall. It’s slightly cropped but still covers my midsection even when I raise my arms, which is my go-to test for any new top.

I gravitate toward neutral colors, like this one called Pearl, but it also comes in a pretty pink and a dark navy. Love!

Anthro Halloween Decor

Did you know that Anthropologie has Fall and Halloween decor? They have some cute things! I spotted lots of candles, serving pieces and glassware with metallic gold accents. There was also a good selection of fun Halloween tabletop decor. I love the little ghost candles!

Instant Pot Adventures

Have you used an Instant Pot? Until this week I never had. Then my oldest daughter told me how much she likes and uses hers so I thought I’d give it a try. I figured it would either be great or I might blow up my kitchen.

I made the Chicken Orzo Soup recipe from the Instant Pot Cookbook and it turned out yummy. I had to reduce the recipe at the last minute because I accidentally bought the Instant Pot Duo Mini and the recipe was for a larger pot. Tough to make 6 quarts of soup in a 3 quart pot! Total rookie move. But I didn’t blow up my kitchen either. Below you can see what it was supposed to look like vs. what mine looked like. Not too bad for my first attempt.

I’m going to give the mini pot to my younger daughter to take to college and get the larger 6 quart model for us. I figure since I already have the cookbook I might as well! The recipes look pretty good. Do you have any favorite Instant Pot recipes? I’d love some recommendations.

The Hunting Wives

I’ve gotten sucked into a new show on Netflix called The Hunting Wives. It’s based on a book by May Cobb with the same title. I’m not sure how to categorize it. A racy murder mystery maybe? If you enjoyed Big Little Lies with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, then you might like this show too.

The Hunting Wives is a racy drama that follows newcomer Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow) as she becomes entranced with Margo Banks (Malin Åkerman), a seductive socialite, and her exclusive circle of affluent girlfriends, known as the Hunting Wives, in a small East Texas town. Underneath the Southern charm lies a world of temptation and dangerous liaisons. Margo’s magnetic charm and the group’s intoxicating allure awaken Sophie’s dormant passions, leading her down a treacherous path lined with jealousy, deadly suspicion, and murder. – Rotten Tomatoes

I decided to read the book too, to see if I liked it more or less than the series. I’ll let you know!

That’s all for this week. Thanks for being here. I truly appreciate each and every one of you! Enjoy the weekend – Yay! It’s Friday!
